Original gum, lovely rich color, strong impression, noticeable laid linesFINE AND ENORMOUSLY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1868 ONE-CENT LARGE QUEEN ON LAID PAPER. THIS IS THE FINEST OF THE TWO OR THREE EXAMPLES THAT EXIST. ONE OF THE KEY STAMPS FOR THE LARGE QUEEN COLLECTOR AND A MAJOR CANADIAN RARITY.
The Unitrade catalogue notes "fewer than 10 unused copies" of the 1c are recorded. Nearly all are without gum and have faults to some degree. This is the first unused example we have offered since keeping computerized records.
