EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT ON BLUISH, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- ONLY ONE HAS GRADED HIGHER.

With 1996 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $3,500.00). Only four others have achieved this grade and only one has graded higher (statistics that have not changed since 2012). The sole example graded higher, at 98 Jumbo, realized $15,500 hammer in our auction of the Scarsdale collection

TR37 Mar. 1, 1909” duplex datestamp and oval grid cancel on Union Station (Washington D.C.) picture postcard to Havana, Cuba, from the Union Transfer Co. to Atlantic Coast Line requesting “the names of several medium priced hotels in Havana”, receiving datestamp, Very Fine, the Scott value of $175.00 for 1c on postcard is for a single, which paid the domestic 1c rate -- this pair of 1c Bluish Paper stamps paying the UPU card rate is an extremely rare use -- Scott Retail for two used singles is $300.00
