Jun. 17 10:30AM '98" First Day of Issue machine cancel on buff cover with printed address to The Turner Looker Company in Cincinnati Ohio, back of cover with printed distiller's coat of arms and "Old Larabie is Better"

VERY FINE FIRST DAY COVER WITH THE 2-CENT TRANS-MISSISSIPPI ISSUE.

Henry Scheuer estimates that 12-20 First Day covers are known with the 2c Trans-Mississippi Issue, plus three covers with the 2c used in combination with other denominations.

May 11, 1899" circular datestamp on wallpaper cover to San Francisco, address is a purple circular handstamp, minor small toned spots at bottom, Very Fine and most unusual, reminiscent of the Confederate uses of wallpaper covers during the Civil War

Used with two each 3c and 5c Battleship Documentary Revenues on registered cover from New Orleans to Edinburgh, Scotland, New Orleans Jul. 1, 1898 registered datestamp, transited New York with registry label applied over 2c Trans-Mississippi, London registered handstamps, Edinburgh and New York backstamps, Very Fine and most unusual use to pay the 8c registry fee plus double the 5c UPU rate, despite the illegality of using revenue stamps as postage this cover passed through both New Orleans and New York without complaint by postal clerks, ex Dr. Heimburger

San Juan Porto Rico Rec'd May 18 99", stamp with just a hint of toning along edges, Very Fine appearance, a scarce use of captured Spanish postmark devices on a U.S. stamp, mailed within Puerto Rico, the overprinted stamps were introduced in March 1899 but were apparently not available to the sender of this cover, ex Dr. Heimburger
