2c Red, Ty. IV, Dark Blue Specimen Ovpt. (279BS var). 13mm long in block letters with no period, original gum, thin spot, about Fine appearance, accompanying December 1980 letter from James Hatcher, Scott Catalog Editor Emeritus, states that it "appears to be Overprint D lacking the period", he was on the right track but failed to notice that the overprint is wider and taller than Ty. D, which is found on Official Special Printings, with 1980 P.F. certificate calling this a "279 B-S"
