Rich color, machine cancel positioned so that the characteristics of the variety are clearly visible, perfect centering with unusually wide margins, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, according to Brookman the varieties were caused by a breakdown of the metal of the transfer roll, only one plate of the dozens used contains a combination of both varieties (Plate 246), with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $1,250.00 as 98), this is the highest grade awarded and the only example to achieve it

Almost mathematically perfect centering, gorgeous color, light strike of duplex cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2010 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $1,250.00), only one has graded higher (at 98J) and this is the only example to achieve this grade

Superior centering with well-proportioned margins, rich color on crisp paper, long perfs, face-free cancel which also leaves the variety clearly visible, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, only a small percentage of 2c 1890's were printed from Plates 245 and 246, which contained the Cap on Both 2's variety, the variety was caused by a breakdown of the metal on the transfer roll
