Sale Number 998, Lot Number 63, Plate One Early Type IIIa Gem Examples1c Blue, Ty. II-IIIa (7-8A), 1c Blue, Ty. II-IIIa (7-8A)1c Blue, Ty. II-IIIa (7-8A). EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE COMBINATION PAIR OF THE 1851 ONE-CENT IMPERFORATE TYPES II AND IIIA. THIS PAIR SHOWS THE B-A RELIEF COMBINATION FOUND ONLY IN THE BOTTOM ROW OF THE RIGHT PANE OF PLATE ONE EARLY.

This pair is an extremely rare and desirable example of the B-A Relief combination from the bottom row of Plate 1E Right, resulting from the misplaced Relief A entries in Positions 96-100R1E (see Neinken book, p. 72 and footnote 8, for commentary on the rarity of 96R1E).

With 2009 P.S.E. certificate.
