Mostly Unused Balance. Over 30 stamps, most 19th Century, a few early 20th Century, many cataloguing hundreds of dollars each, a few higher values including 24c and 90c 1869 Pictorials (latter used), and a $3.00 Columbian, condition is decidedly mixed, including some faults, regumming, a few cleaned cancels and a couple dubious items, our estimate takes all that into account and is a small fraction of the apparent catalogue value

Valuable Unused Collection Balance. The collector bought from auctions and mail sales and never mounted the stamps, so they are still on the original lot cards, starts with the Bank Note issues and goes to the 1930s, the collector bought sound original-gum stamps, the large majority in Very Fine condition, though individual stamps range from Fine to Extremely Fine, strength in regular issues, including Bank Notes, Bureau issues and Washington-Franklins, the latter group with many coil pairs, also commemoratives including all of the Trans-Mississippi set, Air Post including the Graf Zeppelin set, some other Back-of-Book, also used Nos. 1 and 2 (the only used and only pre-1870 stamps in the lot), dozens of certificates, many of these were purchased for hundreds of dollars each, a highly desirable collection with outstanding resale potential
