and addressed to the same addressee at Janesville Pa., red "Augusta Ga. Aug. 17" circular datestamp and matching "10" in circle rate handstamp, etiquette label on flap, front and back separated and hinged together, small tear at bottom, part of backflaps cut away to show markings, otherwise Fine, the first day of use of the San Francisco straightline (used June 20 to August 1, 1849), an unusual turned cover, carried by PMSS Panama
from San Francisco to Panama (dep. Jun. 21, arr. Jul 12), then by USMSC Falcon
from Aspinwall to New Orleans (dep. Jul. 28, arr. Aug. 3)
