Civil War Occupation Mail.
Collection of more than 45 covers, most are to or from Union-occupied Southern territory, such as various towns in Virginia, New Orleans, St. Augustine, Port Royal, Nashville, Blockading Squadron, etc., the best covers are four U.S. Patriotics and one Confederate 7-Star Patriotic used from Columbia S.C. on May 13, 1861 -- a Confederate Patriotic use of U.S. postage -- which would be an individual lot except the cover is reduced half-way into the 3c No. 26, also two other covers with Patriotic lettersheets, the rest show a range of towns and uses including one prisoner-of-war cover with examiner's marking from Camp Douglas, also includes a C.S.A. No. 13 bottom imprint block of eight (color bleached), mixed condition with some flaws to be expected, overall Fine and interesting collection
