Brashear La. Apr. 13 (1862).
Brown circular datestamp with fleuron, matching "Paid" and "5" rate handstamps on "Brashear, Franklin & New Iberia Packet, St. Mary, J. H. Whitworth, Master" illustrated Confederate steamboat
corner card cover to Miss Jessie Laura Bryan at Liberty Tex., sender's directive "Care of P. Bryan Esq, 'Cedar Grove'"
(Pryor Bryan), slightly reduced at right
VERY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS CONFEDERATE STATES MAIL BOAT CORNER CARD.
This address in the same hand is found on a Cushing's Express Trans-Mississippi cover. They were probably addressed by Capt. Watson Dugat Williams, Co. F., 5th Texas Regiment, who married Laura Bryan in 1865.
