Large margins except faulty bottom left corner, cancelled by two small pen strokes on yellow cover to Enterprise Miss. with Single Standing Continental Soldier and "We will face the foe upon this field" Verse Patriotic design in ornamental border (SN-3, Verse 49), overall soiling

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THIS SINGLE SOLDIER WITH VERSE IN ORNAMENTAL FRAME PATRIOTIC WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED. A RARITY MADE MORE DESIRABLE BY THE 10-CENT BLUE LITHOGRAPH.

The only other example we have offered with this style of standing soldier was in our sale of the Dr. Brandon collection (Siegel Sale 1087, lot 195). That example has a slightly smaller soldier, without the ornamental frame and has a different verse (we incorrectly described it as SN-2).
