Prize Court Mail. Cover bearing blue "Pendleton S.C. Aug. 20" cds
and matching "Paid 5" hs, addressed to "Emilio Puig, Care of Spanish
Consul, Charleston S.C.", red court docketing at R., some toning, still
Very Fine and very rare, this cover was aboard a British ship which was
captured trying to run the blockade into Charleston, the letter was then
used as evidence in court proceedings, described in Dietz on p. 262 |
