show back of cover, which bears "Good Samaritan" Return Postage
Label, from a third party who supplied 10c stamp and asks for
reimbursement, two strikes "Hong-Kong C Ja 7 70" receiving cds -- once on
cover and again on label -- along with writing in Chinese, couple minor
edge flaws, still Very Fine, a striking exhibition item and fascinating
postal history usage -- although domestic postage was provided by
kind-hearted individuals, and 3c covers are seen with labels such as this,
we cannot recall seeing another example of an 1869 Pictorial foreign-mail
usage prepaid in this manner (let alone a 10c cover to Hong Kong) |
