barely noticeable natural paper wrinkle at topFINE-EXTREMELY FINE. A VERY RARE COMPLETE SET OF THE ELUSIVE 1909 CHINA CLAY PAPERS. In 1909 the Bureau of Engraving and Printing tried a number of different methods to combat paper shrinkage during the printing process, which caused uneven perforations. In one such experiment, a higher mineral content was added to the paper mixture. This method was deemed unsuitable, and the experiment was discontinued.
