ONE OF ONLY SEVENTEEN RECORDED UNUSED EXAMPLES, AND ONE OF ONLY TWO PAIRS CONTAINED IN OUR RECORDS. Our census of Scott 423A, available at our website at: http://siegelauctions.com/enc/census/423A/423A.htm, contains nine unused singles, two vertical pairs and a block of four, for a total of seventeen unused copies. All genuine stamps are off-center, as is the example offered here. This pair was included in our original census, based on the catalogue description from a 1946 Costales auction of the Colonel Green collection.
