Attempted Flight from Rockford Ill. to Stockholm, Sweden (AAMC 1084).
5c Beacon tied by Rockford Oct. 18 duplex on Aero Philatelic Society corner
card cover prepared by Harry Truby, signed by Bert Hassell and Parker
Cramer, appropriate endorsements, Very Fine, one of only ten covers
carried on the attempted flight from the U.S. to Sweden over Greenland,
"Fish" Hassell and "Shorty" Cramer crashed during a blizzard over the
icecap in Greenland. A fishing vessel rescued them after a thirteen-day
trek across the icecap. Their plane was discovered sixteen years later

Committee Medal. Gold-colored medal with red, white and blue ribbon and
pin, from the Mayor's Committee of New York City, inscribed to Prince
Potenziani, Governor of Rome, by Mayor James J. Walker, May 4, 1928,
accompanying note from Herman Herst Jr. indicates medals of this type were
distributed to city officials, this one coming from the estate of then
Postmaster Albert Goldman, interesting collateral item for William-Yancey
