2102 c imageCANADA, 1919, Oct. 9 -- "Handley Page" Flight, Parrsboro N.S. to Greenport N.Y. (AAMC 22 var). Roessler cover with purple handstamped cachets, Canada 3c Geo. V tied by Parrsboro N.S. Oct. 9, 1919 datestamp, this is the correct date of origin for the rare flight covers, but the absence of the special straightline cachet and Greenport receiving datestamp indicate this was either not flown or possibly was part of the original mail before the forced landing at Parrsboro -- AAMC for flown cover is $1,500.00 (Image) E. 200-300 160.00

2105 c image1924, Sep. 12 -- Special Flight by DePinedo between Shanghai and Kagoshima. Flown cover with purple "First Airmail/China-Japan" framed handstamp and China 3c on 4c Junk tied by Sep. 12 circular datestamp, Very Fine, DePinedo flew round-trip from Rome to Japan in just under seven months, the Italian Consul in Shanghai arranged for 70 letters to be carried from Shanghai to Kagoshima, but the official who received the mail bag forgot to deliver the letters, only 52 of the 70 carried were recovered (Image) E. 750-1,000 800.00
