Accompanied by copy of letter from Mail-o-Meter Company dated Oct. 23, 1924, stating that "In response to your inquiry, please be advised that we did perforate a few two cent Harding stamps, the exact amount, however, I cannot say, as our records are not clear regarding the various issues which are perforated and reeled by the Schermack method." brightEXTREMELY FINE. POSSIBLY THE ONLY LARGE DIE ESSAY OF THE 2-CENT 1931 RED CROSS ISSUE IN PRIVATE HANDS. The stamp was issued on May 21, 1931, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Red Cross. The cross was printed in red. It appears in outline in Black on this essay.
