vertical file fold does not affect stampEXTREMELY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED USAGE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE FROM SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS.
The cover is addressed to "P.M. Bell, City of Austin Texas". According to United States 1847 Issue: A Cover Census by Thomas J. Alexander, Texas received 7,900 5c stamps. Only six covers are recorded used from any Texas town. Due to the distance between towns in Texas, there was probably little demand for the 5c stamps.

original addressee's name, couple tiny erosion spots resulting, still Fine

London, from the Lang Freeland & Co. correspondence, British and

2). 10c horizontal pair and single, ample to huge margins incl. part of
adjoining stamps at bottom of pair, small tear at top of left stamp, right
stamp small surface scuff, tied by ms. lines on cover to Canton,
China, sender's routing "Overland via Southampton Eng", magenta
"40" credit, red Southampton transit (Feb. 4, 1850) also ties pair, neat
"Hong Kong 18 AP 1850" backstamp, another 10c stamp necessary to make up
45c rate is missing from right side, small cover tear at top left, tiny
