Larchmont N.Y., with original letter on hotel stationery which reads "My
dear son, I am sending you this letter by airplane mail at least it will go
to New York by airplane and by train mail from there to Larchmont. While it
is not unusual to fly from here to New York, yesterday was the first day
the government officially started any airplane mail service, and if you
live to be a man and have any children they may read of this event in their
histories. The boy scouts helped to deliver the mail that arrived at
Washington yesterday and I understand they did very good work. Love to all.
Father. P.S. As the airplane had trouble on the way to New York yesterday,
this will be the first mail thru, providing it gets there.", cover with
