Confederate Soldier", "Due 10" straightline and "Richmond Va. Aug. 25, 1863" circular datestamp, with original letter datelined "Delaware County Pa. July 19th/63" that reads "...I am happy to state to you all that though painfully wounded in three places in the recent engagements near Gettysburg Pa., I am doing well. I am now in Chester Hospital, well cared for and have been very kindly treated ever since I have been taken out of our lines. Chester Hospital is near Chester station on the Philadelphia and Baltimre Rail Road...I was wounded on July the 3rd near Gettysburg.
