Starnes record a total of 24 covers to China, including four from the Archer correspondence. Of these 24, only six bear this combination of stamps, which pays double the 53c rate. There are no covers recorded with a different combination of stamps paying the $1.06 rate. This cover, with the Star fancy cancels, is regarded as one of the most desirable 90c 1861 covers extant.
