EXTREMELY FINE GEM. PROBABLY THE FINEST KNOWN EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1861 ISSUE IMPERFORATE HORIZONTALLY.

The number of 3c 1861's released imperforate horizontally is not known, but they are very rare in any form. A search of several important collections containing perforation errors failed to yield an example in condition comparable to the pair offered here.
