Historical Bureau. Three-line imprint with N.Y.C. return address on
unsealed yellow cover to Sunbury Pa., pair and single 2c Black (73) tied by
"Phila. Pa." circular datestamp and cork, based upon the differences in the
centering, it appears that the single 2c was applied first and the pair
from another sheet added when the circular was weighed, Very Fine, scarce
and unusual triple rate circular usage, ex Kantor (Fig. 50) (Image) |

Washington, D.C. Two-line imprint, 3c Rose (65) tied Star with
Circle at Center cancel, "Washington D.C. Aug. 9, 1864" double-circle
datestamp on immaculate cover to Mass., Extremely Fine, fancy cancels from
Washington D.C. are extremely rare, ex Kantor (Fig. 10)

cover with "To" printed directive and ms. New York City adress, 3c Dull Red
(26) tied by "Washington D.C. Jul. 30, 1861" circular datestamp, slightly
reduced at left, Very Fine, the U.S. Sanitary Commission was created in
June 1861, this is a very early and scarce type of official imprint , ex
