U.S.A., Sasebo Pigeon Post,
1952. Magenta "U.S.F.A. Sasebo Traffic Sect. Pigeon Posted" cancel on
105 x 105mm flimsy datelined 9-17-52, usual folds associated with being
carried by pigeon, Extremely Fine, "U.S.F.A." means "U.S. Forces Afloat"
and Sasebo was a U.S. Naval base in Japan established after the end of the
second world war, this pigeon service operated from the ship to Japan from
April 1951 to Dec. 1952, reportedly only 12 known, with articles by Robert
