EXTREMELY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF THE 10-CENT 1879 AMERICAN BANK NOTE STAMP WITHOUT SECRET MARK. THIS BLOCK OF THE DOUBLE PAPER VARIETY IS POSSIBLY UNIQUE.

Brookman states that "blocks of the Type I are extremely rare." He also does not list the double paper variety. With 1997 P.F. certificate. The double paper variety is unlisted in Scott. Scott Retail as normal block is $12,500.00. (Image)

EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1879 10-CENT AMERICAN BANK NOTE PRINTING WITH SECRET MARK IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION.

The 10c stamps from the American Bank Note printing (Scott Nos. 187 and 188) are notably scarce with such choice centering. The example offered here, with wide margins on all four sides, is a true condition rarity.
