VERY FINE AND RARE. THIS COVER WAS CARRIED TO THE MOON AND BACK ON THE APOLLO 12 MISSION. A GREAT SPACE-RELATED RARITY.

The Apollo 12 mission was the second time that humans walked on the surface of the moon and returned safely to Earth. Launched on November 12, Apollo 12 was struck by lightning two times after takeoff, temporarily shutting off electrical power with no permanent damage. The lunar module Intrepid spent 31 hours and 31 minutes on the moon's surface. The Yankee Clipper command module returned to Earth on November 24. This cover was postmarked after quarantine had ended. (Image)
