VERY FINE AND CHOICE. THIS IS THE FIRST REVERSED STENCIL MARKING THAT WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED.

In this instance the stencil was accidentally placed upside down when the marking was applied, causing this remarkable mirror image. The handstamp in any form is unlisted in the American Stampless Cover Catalogue. A second example, reading correctly, is offered in the following lot. (Image)
