Experimental Aeroplane Mail Flight (AAMC 96). 1c Green tied by Ithaca
Oct. 16 machine cancel on locally addressed picture postcard of the Ithaca
City Hospital, blue boxed flight handstamp cachetVERY FINE AND CHOICE. OF THE APPROXIMATELY 1,000 PIECES OF MAIL FLOWN, ONLY TEN ARE RECORDED.
The mail was delayed as the flight was rescheduled from Oct. 13 to Oct. 14 due to inclement weather. The pilot then erred by dropping the mail in the woods from which it was not recovered and deposited into the general mail stream until Oct. 16. (Image)
