The Dark Green shade is a distinctive, intense color that seems to highlight some of the more subtle features of the design. Original-gum copies of the 10c Type I imperforate stamp are rare in and of themselves. This shade variety of the Type I should be considered a great rarity in any condition. The small and expert repair, visible only under magnification or in fluid, should be considered a minor flaw in a stamp of this rarity and beautiful appearance.
