EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING COVER BEARING A SUPERB STRIKE OF THE RARE U.S. POSTAL AGENCY AT TIENTSIN MARKING.

The Tientsin oval was typically used as a transit marking on the backs of covers passing through the U.S. Postal Agency. Of the dozen or so examples known, only a few show the oval datestamp used to cancel the stamp at Tientsin. This is one of the finest strikes and covers known to us. (Image)
