Lot Sym. Lot Description Est/Cat Realized
607 og image30c Ultramarine & Carmine (121). Original gum, small h.r., fresh and bright colors and sharp impressions on brilliant paper, clear grill points, extra wide margins all around

EXTREMELY FINE. THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL IS A RARITY IN WELL-CENTERED ORIGINAL-GUM CONDITION. THIS SUPERB STAMP IS ONE OF THE FINEST KNOWN.

We estimate the population of well-centered original-gum examples of the 30c 1869 with grill at approximately 12 to 15 stamps. This stamp possesses remarkable richness of color and clarity of impression.

VERY FINE. A RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 OPICTORIAL ISSUE.

The 30c 1869 Pictorial Issue is an exceedingly difficult stamp to find in sound, well-centered, original-gum condition. The example offered here, while not perfectly centered, is far better-centered than most and is remarkable for its overall freshness.

VERY FINE AND CHOICE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.

The grilled 30c 1869 is rarely found in well-centered original-gum condition -- the few surviving multiples are poorly centered -- and it is actually rarer in such condition than its ungrilled counterpart, Scott 121a. (Image)

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE WITHOUT GRILL.

Our review of Philatelic Foundation records indicates that 53 examples have been certified as genuine including two blocks of four and one plate block of fifteen (Ex Ishikawa). In addition to the certified copies, there is a plate number block of six and an imprint block of eight. However, despite the number of stamps, very few are as fresh and well-centered as this example.
