Aug. 16" circular datestamp and "REGISTERED" framed straightline handstamp on 1866 registered cover to Sheffield, England, red "New York Registered Aug. 18" double-circle datestamp ties stamp, London registered marking, ms. "174" (Richmond) and "4599" (New York) registry numbers, receiving backstamp, blue crayon "30" at top left

Pkt. 19 Paid 14 Mar." credit datestamp, originally endorsed "per 'Hermann' (a North German Lloyd line ship which departed New York on March 10) and crossed out to reflect its sending on the Cunarder Asia which departed Boston on March 14, 1866, receiving datestamp, minor edge wear, Very Fine and interesting usage, ex Newbury, with 1990 P.F. certificate (Image) E. 500-750
2351 c image24c Grayish Lilac (78a). Natural s.e. at right, deep shade, tied by grid cancel on cover to Queensland, Australia, neat "New York 18 Jun. 9" debit datestamp, second strike of New York debit marking at left curiously dated July and marked 24c due, earlier strike of 3c credit datestamp before postmaster realized that the cover was underpaid, "Short Paid" handstamp, 1866 Marseilles and receiving backstamps, two strikes of "2F55c" Anglo-French accountancy marking and marked "1/10d" due, few trivial toned spots, Very Fine and choice, a most unusual usage, marked with the 18c debit in New York on the assumption that it would be sent at the 33c rate by British Mail via Southampton, it was later corrected to reflect short payment of the 39c rate via Marseilles (Image) E. 500-750
