2258 c image3c Rose (65). Intense shade, tied by "San Francisco Cal. Nov. 12, 1861" double-circle datestamp, second strike at right, on incoming cover from England to San Francisco and forwarded to Georgetown Cal., originating postage paid by Great Britain 1sh Green (28), tied by "London Apr. 29, 1861" circular datestamp with "W21" oval, neat "Ship 5" and red "Insufficiently/Prepaid" handstamps, with original contents, barely reduced at top, few trivial toned perf tips on 3c stamp, otherwise Very Fine, a beautiful and extremely rare mixed-country franking on a forwarded cover inbound to the United States, ex Ishikawa (Image) E. 2,000-3,000
2259 c image3c Rose (65). Two singles, right stamp with two rows of perforations at bottom, tied by cogwheels on yellow cover to South Roxton, Canada East, matching "San Francisco Cal. Nov. 26, 1862" double-circle datestamp, "30" in circle and oval "United States" handstamps, stamps slightly affected from placement near edge of cover, Very Fine and unusual usage, the partial payment was not recognized and the cover was marked due 30c, ex Kramer (Image) E. 300-400
2260 c image3c Rose (65). Horizontal strip of five, natural s.e. at right, tied by boldly struck circle of wedges cancels on cover addressed to "American Restaurant, Universal Exposition" in Paris, France, red New York 12c credit datestamp also ties strip, small red boxed "PD", June 1867 French transit, Paris and Universal Exposition backstamps, Very Fine and attractive usage (Image) E. 400-500
