2219 c image1c Blue (63). Three, two with s.e., used with unrecognized and uncancelled 1c Blue, Ty. V (24), No. 63's tied by blue grids and "Chicago Ill. Feb. 12, 1863" double-circle datestamp on cover to Aurora Ill., bold matching "Held for Postage" backstamp, cover opened at left affecting one stamp, another stamp with rounded corner prior to use, still Fine and unusual usage, the cover was held and advertised as deficient in postage until the sender furnished an additional 1c as the 1857 Issue was demonetized and not accepted (Image) E. 500-750
2220 c image1c Blue (63). Rich color, tied by boldly struck "Paid" in oval, red "Boston Mass. Feb. 24" double-circle datestamp on multicolored Romeo & Juliet Valentine cover addressed locally, with original embossed multicolored enclosure depicting lovebirds kissing and with "You are all my heart's treasure/My joy and my pleasure" label affixed, cover has small tear at right from opening, an Extremely Fine and attractive Valentine (Image) E. 2,000-3,000

Horizontal strip of four, fresh color and generally well-centered, tied by circle of wedges and "New-York 22 Jan. 1863" double-circle datestamp on pristine cover to Philadelphia, right stamp in strip scissors-separated at right affecting a few perfs, still an Extremely Fine cover paying 3c domestic postage plus 1c carrier fee, ex Hill (Image) E. 200-300
