THE FINEST OF TEN RECORDED EAGLE CARRIER COVERS TO FOREIGN DESTINATIONS -- THIS IS THE ONLY ONE TO GERMANY AND THE ONLY COMBINATION WITH THE 5-CENT OR 10-CENT 1857 ISSUE. A SPECTACULAR AND IMPORTANT COVER. Our records of Eagle Carrier covers contain ten usages to foreign countries, including one half-cover only. By destination, these are: Canada (ex Meyersburg), Denmark (half-cover, ex Meyersburg), England (four from a new find--only one is tied), France (two, both from our Sale 747), Germany (the cover offered here) and Syria (carried outside the mails, ex Golden). This is the only cover known, domestic or foreign-bound, with the Eagle Carrier used in combination with either the 5c or 10c 1857-60 perforated issue. Ex Lapham and Armitage.
