VERY FINE. A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1870 NATIONAL GRILLED ISSUE.

The handful of original-gum examples of this rarity have grills that show only a few points. This stamp, although lacking gum, has a much clearer grill impression. It is also well-centered and has excellent color for the issue.

EXTREMELY FINE. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT 1870 NATIONAL GRILLED ISSUE. A RARE STAMP IN SUCH CHOICE ORIGINAL-GUM CONDITION.

The 15c National Grilled Issue is one of the most difficult of all National Bank Note Company issues to find in well-centered, original-gum condition. The stamp offered here, combining the elements of color, paper, centering, noticeable grill points and pristine gum, is a true condition rarity.
