paperEXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 1869 15-CENT TYPE I -- VERY RARE IN THIS SUPERB CONDITION. The 15c Type I was produced from the first plates used to print the 1869 Pictorial Issue for its March release. The May 1869 second printing was made from a new frame plate, which produced Type II stamps. Type I's are considerably scarcer than Type II's, and unused examples of Type I are extremely rare.
