"25" and "Ship 12-1/2" with New Orleans forwarder's handstamp on bottom flap, second from Potosi Mo. to Brazoria Tex. via New Orleans with "Ship 56" rating and "Steam Packet Columbia" hs, few small faults, a Fine pair of usages E. 300-400
619 c 1845 Rates. Nine covers on exhibit pages, range of origins inc. Baltimore, England, Cuba, Guadeloupe, France, ports of entry incl. Urbanna Va., Philadelphia, New York, Wilmington N.C., Boston, excellent showing of rates from 5c thru 32c, few better markings incl. Liverpool Ship Letter, all are fresh and Fine-Very Fine, an interesting group E. 300-400
620 c Mobile Ala. Oct. 5. Blue circular datestamp, matching "Ship" in circle and "10" on 1849 folded letter to New York City from Carthagena, with "Carthagena AU 30, 1849" and "Kingston-Jamaica SP 2, 1849" backstamps, Very Fine, ship fees were waived on Royal Packet mail from the West Indies E. 100-150
621 c Mobile Ala. 9 Mar/10. Blue integral-rate circular datestamp and matching "Ship" straightline on folded printed prices current with handwritten note datelined "Demerary 4th February 1850" and addressed to Fair Haven Conn., neat "Demerara FE ?, 1850" and "Kingston, Jamaica FE 15, 1850" backstamps, carried on the R.M.S.P. Conway via Kingston to Cuba and aboard the Avon to Mobile, minor splitting along folds, Very Fine and rare usage, illustrated in Stone book on p. 282 E. 300-400
622 c New-York Ship Jun. 18 29cts. Black circular datestamp on 1851 folded letter to Lowell Mass. from Naples, Italy, various Italian and French transits, carried aboard a ship of the Havre Packet Line, lettersheet shows illustration of Trajan Column, some slight wear, otherwise Fine and rare, only six France-U.S. sailings were made at this rate E. 150-200
623 c U.S.-British 1849 Treaty Rate. Five covers entering the U.S. incl. one each from Hong Kong and Switzerland, three from England, range of markings, rates paid and destinations, all are Fine-Very Fine, interesting group E. 200-300
