"20-3/4" rating, also bearing strike of U.S. Naval Lyceum illustrated hs, second strike on back, part of address eroded from crossed-out forwarding ms., Very Fine E. 400-500
609 c Charleston S.C. Mar. 28. Red circular datestamp, matching "Ship" hs on 1837 folded letter to New York from Mantanzas, ms. "Express Mail" at top and rated "77" due, light horizontal file fold, sealed tear at top, otherwise Very Fine and rare, the domestic rate was tripled for the express usage, collect express only existed from Nov. 15, 1836, thru Oct. 31, 1837 E. 200-300
