575 [Revolutionary War]. 4pp letter from someone on the wrong side of the war with date at end "Staten Islands/Province of New York/28 June 1778" (same day as Battle of Monmouth in N.J.), some interesting content incl. "We expect Sir Henry Clinton with the army daily. We hear he has evacuated Philadelphia, and is now within thirty miles of this Island.", other contents incl. "I will only venture to say (after every soldier in the army) that we were always superior to our villainous enemies in number and spirit, that we could have cut them to pieces...General Burgoyne was not beat, a very large train of artillery, baggage and provisions encumbered him with delays...", overall Very Fine, fascinating and rare letter, accompanied by typed transcript, ex Willcocks E. 1,500-2,000

Recently uncovered group featuring 162 unpublished photographs of Encampment Wyoming, ca. 1906-1907, with shots of stage coaches, saloon, locomotive, views of town and numerous Wyoming citizens mostly eager to pose for this unknown photographer (accompanying Wy. cover with long letter may shed some light), incl. 29 stereo views incl. San Francisco earthquake, Sante Fe street scene, McKinley's funeral, Florida, few glass slides incl. nice image of Fort Jefferson Fl., mixed condition with Wyoming photos curling at edges (Image) E. 500-750
