flag-of-truce at printed circular rate to Petersburg Va., sender's
endorsement "By Flag of Truce" at lower left, neatly docketed, Very
Fine, the regular letter rate in Sep. 1863 was 10c, this probably contained
a printed death notice and was accepted at the 2c circular rate, ex

civilian flag-of-truce cover to Cambridge Md., route instructions
"Via Norfolk Va. and Flag of Truce", 3c Dull Red, Ty. II (26)
tied by "Washington D.C. Mar. 6, 1862" circular datestamp, one day after
"Dead Letter Office Mar. 5, 1862" circular datestamp was applied, "Due
6cts" straightline handstamp, and attractive cover despite stamp faults,
extremely rare combination and flag-of-truce usage
