references to "running the blockade...I have some little interest on a
blockader...", the mail carrying this letter left Wilmington on Feb.
17, 1864, aboard the blockade-runner Rothesay Castle, red "Nassau
Paid A FE 20 64" circular datestamp and crayon "4" pence due, sent to New
York via regular mails and handstamped "5" cents due on arrival, faint
toning and small piece out of backflap, opening tear into "5" rate marking,
