Jul. 23, 1864, to the care of Fraser, Trenholm & Co. in Liverpool, letter mentions "I sent off this morning to Wilmington a long letter for you...", carried from Charleston to Nassau on the blockade-runner Fox, departing Aug. 22 (first trip since Jul. 26), arriving Aug. 26, then to New York and from there by the Cunarder Persia on Oct. 5, arriving Liverpool Oct. 15, "Liverpool 15 OC 64" circular datestamp, blue crayon "1/5" plus "7" for a total of "2/-" due, restated "2/-" in pen, large ink smear (could be removed by a restorer), flap tears, otherwise in Very Fine condition (Image) E. 750-1,000 525.00
