VERY FINE. THE LATEST RECORDED USE OF THE 10-CENT ENGRAVED DIE A STAMP EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. ONLY ONE LATER EASTERN USAGE OF ANY GENERAL ISSUE IS RECORDED.

According to Dietz, the latest 10c Die A usage east of the Mississippi is May 4, and the latest Die B usage is May 22, 1865. Both are Keatinge & Ball printings. This cover post-dates the May 4 listing by four days. Accompanying this cover is another wallpaper cover with the large Jackson circle (dateless) and a U.S. 3c Rose (65) tied by target. The two make an outstanding page to conclude a Confederate collection or exhibit.
