(10a). Horizontal strip of six and detached single at left, beautiful
early shade and impression, large margins with frameline complete at bottom
and sides, mostly complete at top, tied by four strikes of "Milledgeville
Ga." circular datestamp on large piece, the strip was prepared for
separation by cutting the sheet into horizontal strips and applying a razor
cut carefully between each stamp about three-quarters up from bottom, three
stamps at right slightly creased in margin, end stamp at right lifted and
repositioned in alignment with othersEXTREMELY FINE. THE LARGEST RECORDED USED MULTIPLE OF THE 10-CENT FRAMELINE STAMP. Although unused Frameline multiples are known -- including a block of four (unique), strips of four, six and seven -- used multiples are extremely rare. This strip of six (with the detached single) is by far the largest used multiple and has no equal. It is illustrated in the 1929 Dietz book (page 212) and described as the property of R. W. Evans.
