EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB STAMP WITH THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF COLOR, CANCEL AND CENTERING.

As discriminating collectors know only too well, the 5c 1861 early shades (Scott 67) almost always force a compromise -- great color but heavy cancel, great centering but weak color, etc. -- which makes this stamp ideal for the collector who is unwilling to compromise on any aspect of condition.
