EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1857 ISSUE. ESPECIALLY RARE WITH ITS COLOR PRESERVED SO MAGNIFICENTLY.

The 30c 1857 stamps are almost always found with perfs touching at top or bottom. This original-gum stamp has wide margins all around, and the color is absolutely brilliant.
