Apr. 15/10" integral-rate circular datestamp on blue 1849 folded letter to Detroit Mich.

FRESH AND EXTREMELY FINE. A SCARCE COMBINATION OF THE 1847 ISSUE AND BLOOD'S "POST OFFICE" STAMP FOR LOCAL DELIVERY TO THE MAILS AND THE RATE FOR DISTANCES OVER 300 MILES.

According to published research by Norman Shachat (The Penny Post, Aug. 1992), the Blood's "Post Office" stamp was the second issued and was used primarily in 1849-50. The Meyersburg census of 1847 and Carrier/Local combination covers records three covers with 15L17 and a pair of 5c 1847's. (Image)
