  1420 imagePomeroy's Letter Express, 5c Black on Yellow (117L1). Full to large margins, cancelled by red "Cd.", tied by filing crease, bold red "Boyd's City Express Post, Agst. 1 9 O'C" framed datestamp and "Paid/J.T.B." handstamp on green folded cover to New York City street address, docketing indicates Jul. 28, 1844 origin, Very Fine appearance despite crease, colorful conjunctive usage (Image) E. 500-750

"Paid" (not tied), faint tiny red "PAID" straightline at right (applied by Pomeroy) and red "Boyd's City Express Post, July 3 9 O'C" framed datestamp on 1844 folded letter to New York City without an origin point indicated, file fold, toned (not beneath stamp, which effectively ties it), some edge splits, still Fine, an extremely early Pomeroy usage, this shade may be the basis of the used Orange listing in Scott (Image) E. 750-1,000
