"12-1/2" rate, fresh and Extremely Fine, an extremely rare "to the mails" usage by the New York Penny Post, which delivered city letters almost exclusively, ex Mason and Abt (Image) E. 400-500
  1392 imageNew-York Penny Post, May 2 3 O'C. Orange-red double-line circular datestamp on 1840 folded letter to Philadelphia, red "New-York May 2" circular datestamp, ms. "12-1/2" rate, one side panel partially removed, Very Fine, another extremely rare to-the-mails New York Penny Post usage, ex Meyersburg (Image) E. 300-400
